Finally, if you see anything that’s out of the ordinary please contact the local guards. Its up to us, the local community, to make our area a safe and secure place to live in.

CHERNOBYL FUND-RAISER

As you know, a group of families in our area played host to children from Chernobyl this Summer. Some of these families aim to take the children back to Ireland next summer. However, one young girl will not be able to come back next year. For this reason her host family, Marie and Michael Reilly of Hodgestown, plan on bringing Aleyessa back here for the christmas holidays. To raise the airfare and other incidentals Marie is planning two Coffee Morning to raise the money. The Coffee Morning is on Wednesday 25th November from 10.30 - 12.30pm. A raffle will take place on the morning with prizes of  a Bog Oak Clock, a Bottle of Wine, Shrubs and Soft Toys. A separate raffle is planned with prizes of a Bog Oak Clock, Lamps, Picture Frames, Wine and Cheese Hamper and Soft Toys. This draw will take place on Friday December 4th, in Timahoe National School at 3.00p.m. More info from Marie at 088 / 2154397.

ROAD ACCIDENTS

In recent weeks there have been two accidents at Staplestown Crossroads. This is a danger spot where it is almost impossible to see traffic coming from any direction. The last accident involved two families, both with young children in the cars. Thankfully no-one was badly injured in these accidents. However, they serve to remind us to be extra careful on the roads, especially on Bank Holiday Weekends.

ALTER SERVERS

A big welcome is extended to the 2 new Alter Boys serving in Staplestown Church. They are Craig Murphy and John Fitzharris.
