June Mona Newsletter

_______________June Editorial_______________

With June upon us, we wish all our young people sitting exams, the best of luck, we hope that you are not too pressurised by the hype that is sadly part of most present day events.

Unfortunately our Tir Na Mona office has been the target of three waves of vandalism. We have now relocated our office to St. Kevins G.A.A. Clubhouse, to whom we are most grateful. If any one has any information about who caused these acts of vandalism, please contact any member of our group, or the Robertstown Gardai who are dealing with this incident. We would urge parents of young people to make sure they know where they are and who they are with, in the evenings and especially at the weekends.

Well done to Fr. Pat, Fr. O Malley and Fr. Eric and all who were involved in the Cooleragh Parish Mission Mass on Saturday night 20th May, it was a most beautiful ceremony. It was also great to see our parish and Kilcock parish so well represented at the Jubilee celebrations on the Curragh on May 21st.

Well done to Fr. P. J. and Fr. Paul and all who organised and participated in the opening ceremony of Newtown church.

The Staplestown Children’s choir deserves special mention for their staging of Ants Hillvania. Their enthusiasm and professionalism was a credit to all concerned. Well done to all involved in the production.

Congratulations to all the winners in the Scoil Dara draw. The draw was a great success.

We would again appeal for more people to get involved in our community alert schemes and also the other Tir Na Mona activities.

Enjoy the bright evenings.

Liam Holton.

Chairperson Tir Na Mona
