September Mona Newsletter

_____________
December Editorial____________

Christmas is nearly upon us again and this year we are marking the end of the old Millennium and look forward to the next one with hope and anticipation. It is a special time for children and for their families, but let us not forget those among us who have no one to share the festive season with. In this time of joy let’s make sure it is spread to all in our community.

The Millennium is marking 2000 years since the birth of Christ - in this time of plenty we should not forget the Christian message of loving our neighbours.

Unfortunately Christmas is a time of rich pickings for the unscrupulous of those among us and there will be a lot of break- ins, so we should all be careful and let’s keep an eye out for our neighbours.

Another scourge that is present no matter what the season is the Drugs problem and this month we have included a Drugs Awareness information page.

On the bright side it has been another successful year for the MONA newsletter, with regular contributions from all sections of the Tir na Mona area. The newsletter is always looking for new contributors and if you would like to send in an article it will be more than welcome. Also welcome would be a cookery or gardening contributor.

There have been some changes in personnel and the new production team, which is made up of the younger members of the community thank you for your patience while they "learn the ropes".

We will not be publishing an issue in January but we will be back again in February. We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
