RECYCLING - WHAT YOU CAN DO

Kildare County Council operate a Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) at Silliot Hill, Kilcullen. In addition to glass, aluminium cans and textiles, the following range of recycling facilities is available:

  • Plastic: PET (mineral) bottles, plastic milk bottles, shampoo & detergent bottles.
  • Metal: All electrical goods, cars, steel food cans, other metals
  • Paper and Cardboard: Newsprint (no "glossy" paper), cardboard (folded flat and tape removed)
  • Household Hazardous Waste: Fluorescent tubes, vehicle and domestic batteries, waste oil and oil filters, out of date medicines, pesticides, paint, household cleaning agents etc.
In addition, green waste (trimmings and heavy garden waste) is also accepted. This is shredded on-site and the mulch is available to be taken away by the public for free. Please contact the Recycling Centre in advance for details.
Silliot Hill is located on the Naas-Kilcullen road two miles outside Kilcullen.
It is open 8.30 - 4.30 Monday to Saturday.
