Linkages
The links we have developed with outside agencies vary considerably. They can however be divided into four headings as outlined below. As can be seen, we have active links with eighteen outside agencies.

1. Funding Agencies
Department of Community and Family Affairs
The department had provided funding for the centre in the past.

Action South Kildare
Provides funding and support for the group.

Kildare County Council
The county council provided the building and funding for activities in the Centre

2. Support and Networking
Newbridge Community Development
There are two of our members on the committee of Newbridge Community Development. There is regular consultation with our group on community development issues. We contributed to the recently published Action Plan.

Irish Pre - school Playgroups Association
We have a very good working relationship with the IPPA, which provides both training and support for the playgroup in the centre.

Credit Union
The credit union provides family budgeting advice and facilities for the centre. · ST. Vincent de Paul Support on management advice and funding for the summer project run by the centre.

Garda
We liase with the Gardai on drugs, neighbourhood watch and personal safety issues.

Community Information Centre
There is an out reach initiative being operated from the centre.

St. Conleth's Vocational School

We are part of a programme to tackle early school leaving.

Network Kildare/AONTAS
We are active members of the network and receive support from them.

Scoil Mhuire
The Scoil Mhuire Homework Club is based in the Centre.

3.Training
Red Cross
The Red Cross has facilitated First Aid courses in the centre.

VEC
The VEC co-operate in facilitating training and education programmes locally.

Eastern Health Board (Health Centre)
Courses in teen parenting, community mothers women's health and support for the playgroup.

4.Facilities
Parish Centre

The Parish Centre is used as a facility for training courses, when available.

Scoil mhuire Senior and Junior School, Ballymany
Training and public meetings are held there when the numbers are large.

Droichead Nua Resource Centre for the Unemployed
We have their support as advisors and in providing secretarial services before we acquired our own facilities.

Droichead Nua Sports Centre
We are working with the sports centre to develop the sporting and recreational facilities in the area.

Basketball
The new court funded by KCC is to be opened shortly.

New Port-a-cabin for Playgroup
The new Port-a-cabin installed at the rear of the Centre was supplied by KCC, to facilitate a larger number of children.
