Top jockeys and GAA stars from around the country will be lining out for the most unique hurling fixture of the year, Hurling for Cancer Research, on Tuesday August 14 at St Conleths Park, Newbridge, County Kildare
Countywide 7th to 22nd July. Guided walks given by trained leaders in various locations Naas, Cliff at Lyons, Ardclough, Maynooth, Kilcock, Straffan, The Curragh, Maddenstown, Kidare Town, Donadea, Castledermot, Athy, Vicarstown, Monasterevin, Rathangan, and Robertstown
In 2000 the Irish Sports Council proposed to establish a nationwide network of Local Sports Partnerships to create a national structure to co-ordinate and promote the development of sport at local level. As a result of this the Kildare Sports Partnership was established in 2001.
There is now a network of 33 Local Sports Partnerships around Ireland
The Hive is a new youth hub & café for the young people of Kildare town in the renovated old Post Office. Local & national youth organisations as well as pillars of the local community all helped to develop The Hive.
The main line of the Grand Canal is 82 miles length from Dublin to the Shannon of which twenty-five lie within Co. Kildare. There is also the 28 mile Barrow branch from Lowtown in mid-Kildare to Athy and the Naas Branch and Milltown Feeder
