In 2000 the Irish Sports Council proposed to establish a nationwide network of Local Sports Partnerships to create a national structure to co-ordinate and promote the development of sport at local level. As a result of this the Kildare Sports Partnership was established in 2001.
There is now a network of 33 Local Sports Partnerships around Ireland
It is Ireland's most important Thoroughbred Horse Racing Track. It is situated on the Curragh plain near Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland.
The Grand Canal is the southernmost of a pair of canals that connect Dublin, in the east of Ireland, with the River Shannon in the west, passing through County Kildare

The Hive is a new youth hub & café for the young people of Kildare town in the renovated old Post Office. Local & national youth organisations as well as pillars of the local community all helped to develop The Hive.
Kildare meet Wicklow in Round 1 of the 2019 Leinster Championship on Saturday 11 May 2019.
Throw In is at 7.00pm and the winners will meet Longford in the Leinster Championship Quarter Final on Sunday 26 May 2019.
The main line of the Grand Canal is 82 miles length from Dublin to the Shannon of which twenty-five lie within Co. Kildare. There is also the 28 mile Barrow branch from Lowtown in mid-Kildare to Athy and the Naas Branch and Milltown Feeder
