Since its establishment in 1940 St. Brigid's has grown to be one of the largest schools in South Kildare offering the fullest range of Department of Education programmes at Junior, Leaving and Post Leaving Certificate levels.  In addition the school offers a wide range of Adult Education programmes and provides many local industries with training in Information Technology areas.  Last year with the introduction of the Saturday Morning Club for primary schools, our computer facilities alone were accessed by in excess of 1000 students.

Pastoral Care

The school operates a Pastoral Care programme which means a designated teacher takes a personal interest in a particular class.  This is particularly important for the first year students who are used to one teacher at primary level and now have several different teachers for different subjects.  The teacher/tutors have special interest in the development of students in their charge and discuss with them any difficulties they may have in adjusting to a new school environment
