Match Report:Leixlip qualified for the U/12 Final and the opportunity to make up for last years Final loss when finishing well clear if luckless Ballykelly. Having to line out without prominent regulars Tori McCormack and Laura Dunne and the long journey home from Dingle taking some of Iona Daly's sharpness, they had to contend with county under-fourteens, Caroline Lynch and the tall, long striding, sharpshooting, Christina Newton. They also had no luck with their shooting apart from an early ,Emma Sharpe, goal in reply to Newton's opening point for Leixlip. Their lead was short lived as Christina followed up with a goal and a point and Avril Lambert’s goal on the quarter hour had Leixlip seven points up. Ballykelly then struck both Leixlip posts in their quest for a goal but alert corner back Karen O'Shea cleared the danger on both occasions as she gave a storming display, Joanna Timmins and Caroline Lynch excelled in the half line of defence while Christina Newton and Joyce Jordan eventually had complete control of the middle. Up front Kate Lennon and Clodagh Farrell worked hard and tiny full forward Niamh Lyons got in front of defenders and won loads of possession and used it wiselyFor Ballykelly Niamh Lawless in goal, Danniele Dunne, Gemma Dunne and Marguerite Jess defended ably, Iona Daly and Karen Conway fought the odds at midfield while Laura Coe, Sinead Melia and Emma Sharpe were their best attackers.
