 Disengaged, 7 Days in the Mind of a Small Town Killer is the title of the latest film staring Kildare actor Noel Lambe. The film which was shot earlier this year in Finland and will premier at this year's Helsinki Film Festival in the Autumn. However locals can get a sneak preview of the film on June 30 th in the Town Hall Athy. A limited number of tickets are available for this unique event by ringing 086 1586 716.
The film features music from Finnish groups Värttinä and Troka while Irish groups Kila and the Saw Doctors also appear, the original score was composed by Pat Allott. There are cameo appearances from veteran Athy actors John MacKenna and Dave Walsh. The British born actor Jonathan Hutchings has received glowing reviews for his supporting role in the film. Finnish actors Maarit Hyytiäinen and Lawrence Stone were among the local stars who also appear. Scandinavian pop star Erin Koivisto makes a cameo appearance, in a strange twist of faith Erin has many relations from Athy on her mother's side.
