Living in Athy Working in Athy Investing in Athy Relaxing in Athy

Website Highlights Athy's attractions - 30th April, by Chris Fingleton, Kildare Nationalist

The advantages of living and working in Athy are being advertised worldwide thanks to a new revamped Athy Online website.

The website is once again fully operational after receiving a complete redesign and updating from staff at the Regenerating Athy & Rhyl (RAR)project office, located in Athy Training & Enterprise Centre, at Woodstock St.

According to Clíodhna Scanlon, RAR Project officer, the new site is divided into four main areas and is geared towards attracting people who have a particular interest in Athy, or are thinking of locating to the town.

The site is also proving popular with natives who have moved away but like to keep up to date with changes and events happening in their hometown.

The four areas are: living in Athy; working in Athy; investing in Athy; and relaxing in Athy.

For example under the heading “Living in Athy” users will find information on various activities, including entertainment, what clubs to join, information on Athy's heritage, waterways and up coming events. Another example of what the website has to offer is, under the investing in Athy heading, where users will find information on various organisations which promote and develop industry both nationwide and specifically to Athy.

Ms Scanlon said undertaking the project was a significant task, as some part of the original site had never been updated. She said from the users point of view, the new site us much more user friendly and is easier to navigate.

“It was felt that a total redesign was our best option. Now that it is complete, I look forward to hearing people's views on the site and its content. It is our aim to listen to feedback and continue to develop Athy Online and we encourage users of the site to suggest issues and themes they would like included”, said Ms Scanlon.
