Roads
The N78 national secondary road connects Athy with Kilkenny in the south and connects with the M9 and M7 motorways to Dublin in the north allowing easy access to Ireland's busiest urban centres.
Bus
As with all provincial towns, Athy is well served by bus with both CIE and private operators offering a quality service linking the town to other urban centres. The South Kildare Community Transport was initiated recently providing communters with regular access to and from Athy's satelite towns and villages. Parking in the Town
The town has reasonable parking facilities located in different areas around the town. However, Pay Parking was introduced into the town a few years ago and is 50c an hour. Major supermarkets have their own free car parking facilities. |
