This festival is organised by Kildare Town
Twinning Association and the Institute For International Cultural Exchange.
International groups will include Kandali - Folkdance Group - Estonia, La

Since then groups have visited Kildare from the Basque Country, France;
Villa Verde, Portugal; Burgsinn, Germany; Flanders, Belgium; Turku,
Finland; Sardinia, Italy; Poznan, Poland and the Celtic Nations -
Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Wales.
In addition to international groups, many Irish groups, including some from
Co Kildare have taken part in the festival each year. The interaction
between international groups, Irish groups, local people and visitors to
Kildare who attend the festival, is what the event is all about.
This year's festival will consist of a series of parades, concerts,
recitals, seminars, workshops and pub sessions throughout the weekend,
starting with performances by the international groups at Market Square,
Kildare at 8.30pm on Thursday 26 August, followed by the official opening
and a concert.
