Conal Gallen, ComedianRiverbank Arts Centre Newbridge Riverbank’s Autumn season introduces its first comedy gig, with the well-loved comedian, Conal Gallen performing on Friday 24 October. One of the busiest entertainers at present must be ‘Irish International Comedian’, Conal Gallen, as he anticipates a return nationwide theatre tour under the banner of ‘….If it’s Laughter you’re After’ touring during October and November. This follows on from last year’s tour when Conal was given an open invitation everywhere he appeared to return as soon as possible. Conal has 17 albums and four videos to his credit along with 11 television appearances and several hit fun singles. He has also received several awards, including, ‘Best Irish Comedian in the UK’ 2001/2002, presented by The Irish World newspaper in London, and ‘Comedian of the Year’ 2000 presented by LM/FM Radio. The US also recognised Conal Gallen’s talent when in 2001 The Donegal Association in Boston invited him to their Annual Banquet and presented him with an award as Ireland’s Ambassador of Humour. The world of pantomime is also richer as a result of Conal’s talent as he has played the lead for the past two seasons to an audience of 80,000 people at The Millenium Forum Theatre in Derry. He has had critical acclaim from national newspapers and magazines who described him as ‘Top Quality’ (Stage Magazine) and ‘Not to be Missed’ (Irish News. Conal Gallen continues to thrive on hard work and dedication, which has now been proven through his many live appearances, along with his time spent in the recording studio, writing and preparing material for his forthcoming album.
