In 2016, Irish Businesses Against Litter (IBAL) named Kildare as Ireland's cleanest town.
To mark the occasion, IBAL made a sculpture award to the town.

We are delighted to launch Culture Night Kildare with the unveiling of the commissioned sculpture 'Heart of Oak', a marble artwork by Kilcullen artist Noel Scullion.

Noel also created the well known 'Spear' at the Dun Ailinne Commemorative Park, Nicholstown and 'The Magician' in Kilcullen.
