Kildare County Council Arts Service

Visual Arts

The numerous local visual arts collectives in the county provide a vibrant and consistent exhibitions programme, which are strongly supported by the community.  However, developing an audience for, and understanding of contemporary professional visual arts work is an ongoing, long-term process.

Robert Ballagh

Bordering the capital city, many of Kildare’s professional visual arts have looked to the city for their formal training and support of their practice.  Kildare County Council will continue to engage with visual artists in the County, by providing opportunities for artists to meet, and to provide opportunities and facilities to make artwork.

Kildare County Council aims to create an environment for Visual Artists in the county that supports artistic excellence and innovation
