The
Society of St. Vincent De Paul is a voluntary organisation of lay people who are committed
to helping people in need on a person to person basis.
There are hundreds of centres (conferences) throughout Ireland with
thousands of members.
New members are always welcome.
What is the Society of St. Vincent De Paul ?
A voluntary organisation of lay people who help
people in need on a person to person basis. Membership is open to anybody who has a little
spare time to help needy people
What is the major activity of the members ?
Visiting distressed families in their homes.
Helping people who suffer with illness, loneliness, desertion and alcoholism. Distributing
clothing, fuel, food, beds and furniture to needy families.
In what other activities does the SVP engage ?
Youth clubs, hospital visitation, hostels for homeless men, holiday homes
for young and old, prison visitation, job creation.
How would one know if one would like the work of the Society
?
One will never know unless one tries.
Too few people are
trying to do too much.
We need YOUR help to help people in need.
