Curragh Racecourse to Celebrate Historic Past & Exciting Future

Exhibition to coincide with the final race days of 2016.

Curragh Racecourse are delighted to announce that they will be staging a fascinating exhibition to coincide with the final race days of 2016 to celebrate the end of an important era in the history of the racecourse and the start of a very exciting time as the new Curragh development becomes a reality.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Rogers Family and Friarstown Stud owned by Bahraini businessman Khalid Rahim, will focus on the historic past and the exciting future of the racecourse giving everyone a unique opportunity to view memorabilia and artefacts never seen in public before, while also showcasing the plans for the new Curragh.

The exhibition will open at the races on Sunday 9th October and Monday 10th October and will stay open for the general public from 10am to 4pm until Friday 14th October to coincide with the Go Racing in Kildare Festival Week.

Derek McGrath, CEO of Curragh Racecourse Ltd commented:

“The development of the Curragh will be a major milestone in the illustrious history of the racecourse and our final race days of 2016 will give us the opportunity to celebrate the end of an era and the start of a very exciting new chapter. The exhibition will aim to capture a nostalgic look back of all the special events and memories of the past, while also looking forward to the future. It will definitely be something not to be missed and by opening it for the full week will give as many people as possible the opportunity to visit it”.

The Exhibition will be project managed by Nick O’Toole who also worked on the Lester Piggott Exhibition which took place at the Curragh last May

Admission to the Exhibition

Race Days - 9th and 10th October
Admission included in race day admission cost

Non Race Days - 11th to 14th October
Adults €5 - Students No Charge
