Help Us Identify Kildare Business Leaders of the Future

Help Us Identify Kildare Business Leaders of the Future

Do you have a budding Michael O'Leary, Norah Casey or Lord Alan Sugar in your house?

Would you like your child to have the chance to participate in a unique programme which brings their existing curriculum and the world of business together in a fun environment?

5th and 6th class primary students in schools throughout Kildare are being given the chance to become involved in an award winning programme which will see them mentored by business people from their own communities willing to share their experience with them.

Local entrepreneur, Liam Queally, and his team at Irish Dog Foods are to provide the 12 week programme free to schools and students throughout Kildare wishing to participate.

“JEP is a real leveller! The teachers often tell us that it is often the less academic students who come up with the business idea. And because the jobs that need to be done are so diverse, every child has a role in making the business idea a reality” – says Siobhan Gannon, FC of Irish Dog Foods.

The Junior Entrepreneur Programme brings entrepreneurship into primary schools and helps students develop existing skills such as literacy and numeracy but also new skills such as problem solving, technology, communication, team building, confidence and creative thinking.

Over 26,000 primary school students nationally have already participated in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme and seen the benefits at first hand.

Schools can sign up by contacting Emma Cunningham at Irish Dog Foods by October 26th.
The Junior Entrepreneur Programme was founded by Jerry Kennelly of Tweak.com and developed with Mary Immaculate College Limerick. It aims to sow the seeds of entrepreneurship in the community, and provides young people with the skills, support and abilities they will need for the future.

To date over 26,000 primary school students throughout Ireland have taken part in the programme building up a strong alumni of future business leaders.
