Rachel Stevens Launches 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby

Festival takes place Fri 24th June to Sun 26th June

TV Presenter and Singer Rachel Stevens flew into Dublin today to launch the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival which takes place on Friday 24th June to Sunday 26th June at The Curragh racecourse. This three-day festival and the jewel in the crown of Irish racing promises a spectacle of the finest fashion and style, a fantastic food village and live entertainment.

As the official Style Ambassador for the event, Rachel will form part of the judging panel to seek out the most stylish lady on Derby Day (Saturday 25th June). Courtesy of Dubai Duty Free, the lucky winner will win a luxury trip to Dubai staying in the Jumeirah Creekside hotel in addition to a €1,000 Dubai Duty Free spending spree. The prize also includes a spectacular Boodles diamond Roulette pendent and a luxurious overnight stay at The Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Speaking from the launch at The Marker Hotel, Rachel said,

“It’s great to be back in Ireland as this year’s official Style Ambassador for three day Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby festival. The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby is a great opportunity to get dressed up and I’m looking forward to seeing their winning style at The Curragh on Saturday, 25th June. For me, fashion is all about highlighting your individual style, having fun with it and knowing what’s right for you. I’ll be looking for a winning outfit that has been put together by someone who can have fun with it, be confident and look unique too. I’d also love to see some of the amazing Irish milliners and designers incorporated into the outfits too. I hope everyone gets their tickets now at Curragh.ie to be in with a chance to win this incredible prize.”

Early-bird tickets for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby are priced €25 (available before the 17th June) with transport from Dublin on return luxury coaches available for an additional €10. Under 25’s and seniors cost €20. Special ticket offers are also available for the 24th and 26th June.

One of the greatest people-watching events in the country and Ireland’s answer to Royal Ascot, this year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby promises to be a glorious celebration of Ireland’s most prestigious race with last Saturday's Epsom Derby winner Harzand trained by Curragh based Dermot Weld and owned by His Highness The Aga Khan expected to start favourite for the 1.5 million euro contest.
