The new 'If I had an artist for a day...' Arts in Education programme has been announced
Kildare County Council Arts Service announces the 2016 roll out of this very successful arts in education programme. The Arts practitioners involved in If I Had an Artist for a Day... are experienced artists and educators. The programme offers a unique opportunity for the teacher, their class and the artist to collaborate and explore a range of quality child-led, child-focused arts workshops.

Select an Artist and Workshop
This is your opportunity to experience creative ideas and processes, different ways of working and some unusual materials in the company of a contemporary artist
The Right Fit
Finding it hard to chose? Have you concerns around class size or cost? We understand that 'one size does not always fit all'. We try at all times to accommodate individual school requirements. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to tailor to individual needs are characteristics of the programme. Please just contact The Arts Service to discuss any concerns you may have
Get commitment from colleagues
If you are co - coordinating a booking please ensure that all teachers are keen to commit to the values of the programme and will make willing and enthusiastic participants
Communication
A good working relationship between the school, participating teacher(s) and artist is essential for the successful delivery of these workshops
Be prepared
Get the most from the workshop with a little pre-visit preparation. Where possible link the artist's work to your ongoing classroom activity, this will enable a more meaningful and lasting experience for your class and sustain its legacy

Book early and youre more likely to get the dates, times and workshop you want
Complete and return the booking form
Once your booking is received, well contact you by phone or email to confirm and discuss further.
