Goffs Increase Sponsorship Of National Stakes

Europe's top two year old race at The Curragh.

Goffs is pleased to announce an increased commitment to the sponsorship of the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes that will see the prize fund for the Group 1 contest rise to €350,000 this year.

Taking place at The Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend, Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes is consistently rated as the top two year old race in Europe.  It has been won in recent times by the likes of Dubawi, New Approach, Dawn Approach, Mastercraftsman, Power, and Gleneagles, as well as this year’s 2000 Guineas favourite Air Force Blue (pictured) who was crowned Europe’s Champion Two Year Old earlier this week.

Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby commented:

“Following the tremendous success of the Goffs Thyestes Chase this week at Gowran Park, we are delighted to further demonstrate Goffs’ support of Irish Racing by increasing our commitment to what is undoubtedly one of Europe’s premier two year old races.  Since Goffs began this sponsorship in 2011 the prize fund has grown from €200,000 to €350,000, which underlines the calibre of this world class race.

The timing of the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes in mid-September is a perfect fit for Goffs and our flagship Orby Sale, and we look forward to watching potential entrants emerge as the season unfolds”.
