Nominations sought for the best of National Heritage Week

The Heritage Council is once again delighted to announce the National Heritage Week Event Awards, showcasing the best of National Heritage Week and recognising the fantastic work of all the event organisers and volunteers that take part. 

The 2015 Award categories are as follows:

Heritage Hero
Do you know someone who always goes the extra mile for heritage? Nominate an individual or organisation who makes an outstanding contribution to the protection and promotion of heritage in your local area, particularly during National Heritage Week. Anyone can nominate a Heritage Hero.

Hidden Heritage
Did your event shine a light on Ireland’s hidden heritage? This award is open to event organisers who successfully explored lesser known aspects of Ireland’s heritage during National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.

Reaching Out
Did you organise an event that reached out to marginalised groups? This award is open to event organisers who helped marginalised audiences enjoy National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.

Cool for Kids
Did you organise a great family event? This award is open to event organisers who encouraged children and families to participate in National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.   

The awards are now open for entries. The closing date for entries is midnight Friday 18th September 2015. Entry is completely free. Details of application /nomination forms can be found here: http://www.heritageweek.ie/about-us/awards
