2015 Civil Society Prize Combating Poverty

This year ESSC prize will reward initiatives that aim to improve economic and social inclusion among people living in poverty, or that tackle the increasing risk of poverty in Europe.

Civil society organisations and/or individuals who have carried out initiatives which aim to combat poverty are invited to enter this contest. However, contestants cannot apply directly to the EESC. They have to be nominated by one or more EESC members, national economic and social councils or European civil society organisations and networks. The initiatives should be innovative and must make a valuable contribution to the well-being of the communities which benefit from them.

The prize, which has a total value of 50 000 euro and will be awarded on 10 December 2015, is open to civil society organisations officially registered within the European Union and acting at European, national, regional or local level. It is furthermore open to individuals.
