Ol' Man River faces 7 challengers in Juddmonte Beresford Stakes

Group Two action at the Curragh on Sunday

Ol’ Man River will attempt to give trainer Aidan O’Brien his 14th success in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes taking place at the Curragh this Sunday.   The Group 2 contest has attracted a total of 8 runners who also include Tombelaine trained by Dermot Weld, Convergence trained by Ger Lyons and the unbeaten Clonard Street trained by Tony Martin.

 

The unbeaten Forgotten Rules trained by Dermot Weld is among 9 runners in The Irish Field Loughbrown Stakes. The Listed contest has also attracted Kalann, Eye of the Storm and Altessa.


Qualify, Stellar Glow and Stormfly are among the seven runners in the Group 3 CL & MF Weld Park Stakes, while seven runners will go to post in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Blenheim Stakes including Tamadhor and The Great War .

 

15 runners face the starter in the Tipperary Crystal Amateur Riders Derby, while a competitive field of 18 run in the valuable Manguard Plus Joe McGrath Handicap headed by My Good Brother who will be ridden by Donnacha O’Brien, younger brother of champion jockey Joseph.

 

The race day will celebrate the achievements of members of the Irish Pony Club in 2014 with presentations taking place during the day, the Jockey Skills Exhibition and a performance by the winning Irish Pony Club Musical Ride team

 

The first race is at 1.55pm. Adult Admission: 15 euros. Under 25s and Seniors: 8 euros.  Under 16s and all Irish Pony Club members FREE.

 

The Ryder Cup will be shown on screens throughout the racecourses
