Athy Municipal District - Kildare County Council
The Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach of the Athy Municipal District have been elected. They are, respectively, Fianna Fáil's Martin Miley and Labour's Mark Wall.
The new district committee held its inaugural meeting today.
It has also been confirmed that the first meeting, proper, of the district will take place in Athy on July 21st.
Many of the councillors on the committee are eager to continue to hold
meetings in Athy, but some of the meetings will take place at council
headquarters, in Naas.
The percentage of meetings to take place in Athy will be debated at the July meeting.
