The first ever meeting of the new Athy Municipal District (Kildare County Council) will take place on Monday, 16th June next. There are 6 councillors in the Athy District, which is one of five such districts in County Kildare.
They are:
- Aoife Breslin (Labour)
- Mark Dalton (Fianna Fáil)
- Ivan Keatley (Fine Gael)
- Martin Miley (Fianna Fáil)
- Thomas Redmond (Sinn Féin)
- Mark Wall (Labour).
They meet publicly as district representatives for the first time at 10.15am on Monday in Aras Chill Dara, Naas.
On the agenda for the meeting is the election of Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach of the district, and appointments/ nominations to nine separate local boards and committees as follows:
1. Athy Heritage Company Ltd
2. Athy Investment, Development and Employment Forum
3. Barrow Drainage Board
4. Burrin Joint Drainage Board
5. KCC Finance Committee
6. Local Rural Water Monitoring Committee
7. Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee
8. Athy Grandvilliers Twinning Committee
9. KCC Corporate Policy Group
