Abrakebabra Formula Ford Festival this weekend

Abrakebabra Formula Ford Festival this weekend

The Irish Formula Ford Festival takes place this coming weekend, June 7th & 8th with the Vivion Daly Memorial Trophy and a substantial cash prize awaiting the winner.

The event is being organised by the Motor Enthusiasts Club and is supported by Vivion's long term backer Abrakebabra.

This weekend's racing will have an unusual twist as the two days will take place on different circuits, a first for Mondello Park. Saturday will see the Formula Ford, BOSS Ireland, Patch Fiesta Championship and HRCA Historics compete on the National Circuit.

On Sunday the action will switch to the longer International Track for the Formula Ford Festival. Two heats and a final will be run to determine who lifts the Vivion Daly Memorial Trophy and who takes away the biggest cash prize in Irish racing for many years.

Fresh from his double win at Kirkistown last weekend Noel Dunne will start as one of the favourites. Dunne will be joined by a mixture of youth and experience with the challenge of long term rivals such as Neville Smyth and Stephen Daly being added to by the return of Robert Barrable.

The younger generation will be represented by current Young Driver of the Year Niall Murray, Sean Doyle and Jake Byrne, who have come up together through the Junior Racing categories.

Sunday's programme will also have races for BOSS Ireland, Patch Fiesta Championship, Crowne Plaza Formula Vee Championship, Baker Automotive Irish Strykers Championship and the Yokohama Irish Touring Car Championship.
