Athy's 2014 St. Patrick's Day Parade will be bigger and brighter than ever. The Athy Town Promoters Group is calling on all community, sporting and cultural organisations in the town and surrounding areas to join them to help showcase the best South Kildare has to offer.

In addition, a special appeal is being made to local businesses to take part and join in the town's annual parade, which attracts thousands of visitors for one of the region's best family events.

The Athy Town Promoters Group was formed in 2009 and is committed to proactively promoting the 'Celebrate Athy' theme through festivals and events in our town.  The group is comprised of representatives of Athy Chamber of Commerce, Athy Town Council, Athy Tidy Towns, Athy Young at Heart, Kildare County Show, Kildare's Outdoor Tourism Project and the Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. The organisers acknowledge the ongoing assistance of Athy Gardai, Civil Defence and the Order of Malta.

Entry forms to participate in the parade are now available from Margaret Walsh at the Athy Heritage Centre Museum (Tel.: 059 8633075/ email: athyheritage@eircom.net).

The Athy Parade takes place on Monday, 17th March and will commence from the Kilkenny Road at 3pm (Athy Business Campus) and proceed along William Street, Duke Street and Leinster Street.
