Success in Tidy Towns Competition welcomed

Let's all continue working to help 'Athy Shine' everyday...

Athy has recorded another 6 valuable marks in the National Tidy Towns Competition, which was announced today (Monday, 9th September).

The town is listed in Category E (large towns with population between 5,000 to 10,000) and has achieved 270 marks (up from 264 in 2012).

The success is a welcome boost for the efforts of all key stakeholders who have contributed to the increased marks and favourable comments in the Adjudicator's Report - Local community and residents groups, schools, businesses, local authority and the hard working local Tidy Towns Committee.

The national overall summary can be viewed at the Tidy Towns website www.tidytowns.ie and the Athy Report here
