SAINT PATRICKS DAY PARADE

SAINT PATRICKS DAY PARADE

Bigger and brighter than ever...

Athy's 2013 St. Patrick's Day Parade will be bigger and brighter than ever, with no less than 2 Pipe Bands confirming their participation.

The Athy Town Promoters Group are bringing together a large cohort of community, sporting and cultural organisations in the town and surrounding areas to join them to help showcase the best South Kildare has to offer. In addition, many local businesses are taking part in the now annual parade, which attracts thousands of visitors for one of the region's best family events. The parade commences at 3pm from the Athy Business Campus (Kilkenny Road) with route along William Street, Duke Street and ending at top of Leinster Street (where Review Stand has been relocated).

The Athy Town Promoters Group was formed in 2009 and is committed to proactively promoting the 'Celebrate Athy' theme through festivals and events in our town.  The group is comprised of representatives of Athy Chamber, Shop Athy, Athy Town Council, Athy Tidy Towns, Age Action, Brand Athy, Outdoor Tourism Project and the Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. The organisers acknowledge the grateful assistance of the Kildare County Show Committee, Athy Gardai, Civil Defence and the Order of Malta.
