Christmas Streets & Treats for all in Athy ...

The Athy Town Promoters Group is encouraging everyone to shop local this Christmas.

Every euro spent in Athy over the festive period helps to keep people employed in Athy and to keep shops open.

Athy 's unique range of local & boutique shops are pulling out all the stops to provide both better choice and value in Athy meaning you don’t have to travel far to stock up on Christmas gifts.

There will be a hive of festive activities around the town, with Santa and festive friends turning up in a convertible to help turn on the Christmas lights at 5pm on Saturday, 1st of December at the 'Big Switch Event'. For details of the full calendar of festival & events taking place over the festive season, please check www.athy.ie for details.

Working together with its partners, the Athy Town Promoters have a developed a ‘Shop Local’ incentive scheme, where shoppers get free entry to a draw for one of 30 local shopping vouchers (total prize fund €2,000 kindly sponsored by Athy Chamber of Commerce and Athy Town Council) up for grabs to encourage people to shop local for Christmas.

The Town Council have agreed changes to pay parking leading up to Christmas with Free Parking** from 10 am each day for the month of December in all car parks and free throughout the town each Saturday during December, which will make it even attractive to shop local.

Did you know shopping local supports local employment, with great value, while you are helping your own community towards prosperity in the future. We would like to thank all who shop in Athy for your continued support.
