Identity Thief to Steal the Show at Punchestown

Trainer targeting a return to Punchestown next week.

In form trainer Henry de Bromhead is targeting a return to Punchestown next week with exciting novice chaser Identity Thief.

The Grade One winning hurdler made a smooth transition to chasing when making a winning debut over fences at Punchestown last month and De Bromhead is now focusing on the Punchestown Winter Festival (19th & 20th November) with his exciting six-year-old.

“We’ve got a couple of options for Identity Thief but at the moment we are heading towards the Craddockstown Novice Chase. We’ve had a bit of success in the race over the years and it’s a very suitable race that fits into the calendar well if you win a beginners chase in October as we did with this horse,” the Waterford based trainer said.

“Identity Thief is in in really good form and we were delighted with his run at Punchestown the last day. He jumped really well and put up a lovely performance so we’re very happy with him at the moment.

“The Florida Pearl Novice Chase over 2m6f is also on that weekend and Dean’s Road may run in that. He’s in good form at the moment and has the option of that race.”

The Punchestown Winter Festival takes place on November 19th and 20th with the StanJames.com Morgiana Hurdle the highlight of the two-day fixture.
