Countywide festival of adult learning celebrates outstanding projects
Newbridge, Kildare Town, Kilcullen and Athy 

March 5th-9th, 2018.
All are welcome – free admission. 
Final preparations are being made to a Mindful Nature Trail in Kilcullen, a Relax & Refresh Morning in Athy, a performance of a song written by the Stargazer Community Choir in Newbridge, a series of Chat & Chill Mornings in Newbridge and a Sensory Garden in Kildare Town as part of this year's Kildare Adult Learner Festival running from March 5th to 8th.   

Whatever You Decide To Do, Make Sure It Makes You Happy - Athy - Adult Learners Festival March 2018It's all part of the national AONTAS Adult Learner Festival supported by KWETB, Community Education Service – Kildare. 
This theme chosen by the Community Education Service for this year is 'Health & Wellbeing'.   

During the week there will be an opportunity to experience an engaging series of projects which will showcase the striking journey of learning of five community education groups in the county. Over 80 adults have taken part in a 15-week long project to learn new skills, develop uplifting health and wellbeing projects and make new friends in their communities. 

Participating groups include Newbridge Family Resource Centre; Newbridge Women's Group; Eve Harvest, Kildare Town; Camphill, Kilcullen and Home School Community Liaison, Athy.  

The week will start with a spine-tingling performance by the Stargazer Choir of a song they have written themselves about homelessness in Ireland. This not to be missed event will take place at Newbridge Family Resource Centre on Monday, March 5th from 10am to 12 noon.

On Tuesday, March 6th, the Mindful Mammies Circle, Athy will host a Relax & Refresh Morning from 9.30am to 11am in the Jarevill Suite, Church of Ireland Hall, Carlow Road, Athy.  This promises to be a rejuvenating morning where the group will share the skills and insights they have gained while participating in their Wellness for Women project.  

A little later, on Tuesday morning in Kildare Town you will be in for a feast for the senses as the Gather & Grow Group, Eve Harvest officially launch their sensory garden from 11am to 1pm
Visitors are encouraged to bring plants to swap and there will be an opportunity to collect cuttings from established plants.  
The Newbridge Women's Group has committed itself to sharing their learning about mindfulness with the wider community in a series of Chat & Chill Mornings starting on Wednesday, March 7th from 11am to 1pm at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Main Street, Newbridge.

The event will be repeated on Thursday March 15th (at the same venue) and again on Friday March 9th, this time at the Newbridge Parish Centre, Station Road, Newbridge.  

Thursday, March 8th will give the opportunity to focus on the five senses with the opening of the Meditation Trail at Camphill, Kilcullen. Come prepared by wearing warm clothes, outdoor footwear and rain jacket.  A welcoming party will be on hand and indoor display will also chart the development of the project.   
Admission is free to all events and complimentary refreshments will be served.
