​Drama Facilitator required – Griese Youth Theatre children’s group.

Griese Youth Theatre is looking for a drama facilitator to join the artistic team.

Job specification

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering the artistic programme of Griese Youth Theatres children's groups. This will include planning the weekly workshop programme and producing and directing the Christmas production for one group and the end of year shows for both groups. 

Assistance with the classes, show rehearsals and performance would be provided on an ongoing mentoring basis by the director and volunteer young leaders.

Additional information:

There will be an initial trial period of 3 months.

Garda vetting will be required.

Child protection training and mentoring will be provided.

The successful candidate will report and be answerable to the GYT committee

 Remuneration

The successful candidate will receive a fee of €4,800, covering all 3 terms from September to June. 

Payment will be made in stages throughout the year, to be agreed between the facilitator and Griese Youth Theatre

About Griese Youth Theatre

GYT is a rural based youth group which aims to provide a fun, warm learning environment for young people through the medium of the arts. It helps you develop your confidence, express yourself and welcomes new members using the process of drama. At GYT we aim to bring out people’s strengths and individuality through theatre skills helping them to see the potential and possibilities in their own lives. Membership of Griese Youth Theatre is open to all young people aged between 5 and 20. We are committed to working with all young people in our region regardless of their economic, social or geographical situation. We will make reasonable accommodation to include young people with disabilities, additional needs. We seek members feedback on an ongoing basis. We have an evaluation session with each individual member of the youth theatre once a year and evaluation sessions after productions/ projects. We also involve them in programme planning such as the choice of scripts for production etc. Senior members are very active in running their own initiatives such as fundraising events, youth theatre events and projects. Senior members are very interested in listening to younger members and taking their ideas on board.
