Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposal for road improvement works on the existing road connecting the Ballymore Road to the Blessington Road in Naas, to cater for traffic volumes .NAAS TOWN COUNCIL

NAAS SOUTHERN RING ROAD EXTENSION –
BALLYMORE ROAD ROUNDABOUT TO THE BLESSINGTON ROAD SCHEME.
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposal for road improvement works on the existing road connecting the Ballymore Road to the Blessington Road in Naas, to cater for traffic volumes following the completion of the Naas Southern Ring Road project
Under the scheme it is to proposed to construct approximately 1.0 km of on-road advisory cycle lanes along its entire length; The provision of footpaths in areas where they are currently lacking to ensure connectivity for pedestrians throughout; Pavement strengthening works required to cater for increased traffic volumes; The installation of a signalised junction where the upgraded link road meets the Craddockstown Road in place of the existing mini-roundabout at this junction; The installation of two signalised pedestrian crossings in place of the existing zebra crossings to match the existing pedestrian desire line; The installation of a signalised junction at the junction of the upgraded link road and the Blessington Road; The installation of ducting in the grass verges for statutory services; The diversion of existing statutory services that are affected by the works; The provision of any additional street lighting required; The provision of fencing to provide protection to the existing play areas of existing developments; The provision of the necessary road markings and traffic signs; Appropriate landscape works.
Plans and particulars will be available for inspection and purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at the offices of Naas Town Council during its public opening hours from the 19th day of June 2008 to the 31st day of July 2008 at the following location.

Submissions and observations on the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development is situated, may be made in writing to:

Submissions should be headed; “Naas Southern Ring Road Extension”.
All comments, including names and addresses of those making comments, submitted to the Town Council in regard to this development will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Naas Town Council. Accordingly they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
