All talks are in Celbridge Library at 8.p.m.

 

Talks:

 

Monday February 11th AGM at 7.30 followed by a talk by Dr. Mary Anne Lyons title The Flight of the Earls – the Women    .

 

THURSDAY March 13th: Talk by Dr. Anthony Malcomson title The Clements – the Killadoon Connection.

 

Monday April 7th: Talk by Sinead Quirke – Title of Talk: Jigginstown Naas. (She won the Lord Walter Fitzgerald Prize Essay 2007)

 

Monday May 12th   Eoghan Corry – Title of Talk at a later date.

 

Outings

 

1. 17th March St. Patrick’s Day: Visit to Hill, Church and Well – Time to be arranged.

 

2.  Exchange visit with our Friends in Larne this will take place again this year in April and September.

 

3. Mid week visit to Belvedere House outside Mullingar in June or July. Date to be arranged

 

 4. Visit to The Garda Siochana Museum and Archives in Dublin Castle we will also take in the Chester Beatty Library on this visit. Date to be arranged.

Monday September 1st. Talk by Dr. Jacinta Prunty on the History of St. Bridget’s School Celbridge.

 

Monday October 6th Talk: Seamus Cummins – His talk will be on the Celbridge Workhouse.

 

Monday November 3rd    Talk by Ida Milne – Title The 1918 Black Flu in Ireland.
