The Classic Director Series is a celebration of the work of some of the most revered of Hollywood film makers, ranging from the 1950's Master of the Melodrama, Douglas Sirk, to the 1980's Master of Suspense, Brian De Palma, and also including Martin Scorsese, Sam Peckipah and William Friedkin.

 

Newbridge Library will be screening some of the best films of the careers of five of the greatest maverick directors, followed by a lecture and a workshop which will give people the opportunity to critically analyse the films and their individual scenes.

Film critic Wayne Byrne will be hosting the series of discussions and lectures.
