Know IT - A New Computer Literacy Course in Leixlip Library

Know IT -

Fas eLearning will be running a new computer literacy course called Know IT in Leixlip Library in the near future. The aim of the programme is to equip the learner with the knowledge and basic concepts of information technology and the skill and the competence required to operate a computer.

There is  a FETAC minor award at level 3 given to those who successfully complete this course. The course will be available to everyone over 18 years.

Duration -

The programme is 32 hours in duration, delivered over a 16 week period with one 2 hour workshop each week.

About the course -

A Know IT CD-Rom and Work book will be issued to each participant by FAS and will support the learner throughout the programme. This resource is designed for people who wish to take their first steps in learning about computers. It concentrates on practical tasks such as sending and receiving email, simple word processing and using the internet to find information. Know IT is specially developed for people with no previouse computer skills and contains a unit on computer basics and tutorials on mouse and keyboard skills.

To Register your interest in the programme -

Registration forms are available in the library.

Anyone who is a FAS client does not need to complete the form they can enroll for the programme though their local FAS office instead.

All other interested people must fill out the form which will be forwarded by library staff to the tutor, who will contact you when a place becomes available.

All learners are requested to register as a member of the library.

The learning sessions will take place in the library on Monday and Saturday mornings, dates and times still to be confirmed.
