A free lecture to promote a new accessible service designed for children and
adults with more significant needs. The collection of toys and assistive technology can be borrowed free of charge in any community library throughout Kildare.
Guest Speaker: Dorothy Armstrong, Occupational Therapist with a private
practice in Maynooth for children and young people. She also
works as a lecturer in Occupational Therapy in NUI Galway.
Dorothy will be giving a talk on the importance of play for the development
of children with special needs and will be introducing the innovative Toys,
Technology and Training project. This is a free service that allows parents and
teachers to borrow toys and technology specially designed for children with
special needs through their local library in Kildare. Dorothy will demonstrate the use of a selection of the toys available in the catalogues and host a question and answer session.
