Lissa Oliver


Kildare-based horseracing journalist Lissa Oliver writes for numerous Irish, UK and international racing publications including The Irish Field. Nominated for the UK’s prestigious Clive Graham Journalist of the Year Award at both the 2008 and 2009 Derby Awards, in 2010 Lissa won the Special Commendation.

Her previous novels earned nominations for the James Tait Award and Longman History Award and her latest release, Chantilly Dawns, has been nominated for the Golden Dagger Award for crime fiction. A gripping thriller set in France, it tells the story of disgraced jockey Marcel and his fight for salvation.

Lissa is an active member of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, Executive Officer of the Irish Writers’ Union and is on the Board of Directors of the Irish Copyright Licensing Agency. She is also a tutor with FAS and the VEC and facilitates creative writing courses.
