Kildare Readers Festival Success

Posted Date: 17 May 2010
Kildare Library & Arts Services were delighted to host a most successful inaugural Kildare Readers Festival which took place in Naas, Co. Kildare from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th May 2010. The aim of the festival was to provide readers from our many book clubs and the general public with an opportunity to meet and discuss their favourite books with fellow book lovers, be inspired to join a book club and share the experience of reading.

Events included author readings, interviews and signings with such world renowned names as Joseph O'Connor, Sheila O'Flanagan, Claire Keegan, John Connolly, Dermot Bolger and Brian Keenan. The best of Kildare talent was also on display with engagements by John Minihan, John McKenna, James Durney, Laura Cassidy, Patricia Groves, Rob Kitchin and many, many more. With a walking tour hosted by Mae Leonard, drama performances by Devise and Conquer Theatre Company and An Artists Books Exhibition there really was something for everybody at this festival.
