Leixlip wins Excellence through Accessibility award

 Leixlip Library was awarded an Excellence through Accessibility award from the National Disability Authority. 

Kildare Library & Arts Services are delighted to announce that Leixlip Community Library has been granted an 'Excellence through Accessibility' Quality Award by the National Disability Authority. Deputy Mayor,Senan Griffin received the award at a special cermony at the Mansion House on Monday3rd December .

The judging panel commended the integrated nature of the project, which combined excellent building design with accessible layout of furniture, a broad range of alternative accessible formats,Information Technology services and a tactile guide map to the facility for those with visual impairment.

At the Annual Carol Service in Leixlip Community Library on Thursday 13th December, Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Griffin presented the award to Ms. Teresa Byrne and Alice Robinson of Kildare & Arts Committee who accepted on behalf of the Leixlip Community and Library Staff.

Video clips were shown at the 2007 Award Ceremony to provide guests with an insight into the benefits arising from participation in the ETA Award Scheme.
