Joining the Library
All Are Welcome
Everyone is welcome to access the library and use services such as studying, consulting reference material, reading books, magazines, newspapers, attending events, accessing community information, and much more. However, to borrow items or use the computer facilities you must be a member.
Membership is open to all.
Simply fill out an application form at any branch and provide a valid current proof of address e.g. utility bill, driver licence, children’s allowance book.
Children may join at any age – a parent or guardian must sign the application form and provide proof of address. Children also need a signed consent form to use the Internet and computer facilities in a library.
Once you have completed the application form and paid the fee, if applicable, you can borrow items straight away.
Kildare Library Service also offers a visitor card facility. This allows visitors to the area to use our computer facilities without fully registering for library membership. It is intended for once off visitors to allow access to computer facilities for the purpose of emails etc.
Access to this service is dependent on computer availability. Contact local branch for details.
