Computer and Internet Access

FREE BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS! We have six public access PC's available with high speed broadband . Library members can enjoy one free internet per day that lasts up to 50 minutes.

Members wishing to use the computers just need to sign a terms & conditions of usage form. Children will need to have a parent/guardian sign a consent form  in the presence of library staff.

Printing is available at a cost of €0.15 per black & white sheet and €1 per colour sheet.

Please have your membership card with you and ask at the desk before using the computers.

To guarantee a session, you can book a PC up to one week in advance at the desk or over the phone.

Headphones and floppy disk drives are also available behind the desk. You can use USB flash drives, burn CDs or download your digital camera pics (provided you have your own camera USB cable).
There is a flatbed scanner available at one of our PCs to scan photos or OCR text. This same PC has accesibility software including Kurzweil 1000/3000, Jaws and MAGic.

It is important to note that all our PCs have Deepfreeze software installed which will prohibit system changes and at the end of each session all documents will be wiped from hard drive. So if you want to save your files make sure you back up on floppy, USB drive or CD.

Please note that any abuse of this facility or viewing of material deemed unsuitable may result in denial of service.
