Leixlip is a major town in north Kildare with a population of 15,000+. Leixlip Library is a modern, purpose-built facility of 930 m² with ground floor and mezzanine levels that opened in 2007. It has a multi-purpose space that can be used as part of the library or as an independent venue for events, meetings, art exhibitions. The library also houses the Platform 4 – Audio and Digital Media Studio on the mezzanine level. In 2009 an outdoor garden was commissioned entitled -  “Of books, questions and other things” – by artist Declan Breen.
