Clane is a town with a population of approximately 5,000 located halfway between the larger towns of Naas and Maynooth. The library moved to its current location at in January 2000, where it enjoys a more prominent position in the village. Situated in the heart of Clane village, it is close to amenities and easily accessible to the public.
