  • Technical Assistance – preparation of local development and action plans, research, training & facilitation.

These activities must take place in the Leixlip Town Council area.

Grants will not be paid to residents associations, as a scheme already exists for such purposes.

Grants will not be paid to individuals.

Grants up to €5,000 or 50% of the total cost of the works whichever is the lowest will be awarded.  Grants are not given for on-going running costs, but for specific time-bound projects only

Civic Award  Scheme

The award scheme is to promote and foster a community spirit in Leixlip.  The purpose of the scheme is to acknowledge the contribution of those who’s achievements bring honour to the town.

The council are inviting nominations for this award scheme.  The nomination may be for someone who is a good neighbour, someone who works hard in a voluntary capacity, or someone who excelled at sport.  There are seven categories: cultural, sporting, young person, social, business , non-resident and Good Neighbour.

Adopt an Area Scheme

This Scheme is run to encourage groups and organisations to “take ownership” of public areas in the town and improve or maintain them.

The point of the scheme is to make sure that areas outside of housing estates or own grounds are looked after by someone.  The “adopted area” cannot be within your housing estate or grounds and must have more public usage.

  • You can choose an Old Area (already adopted in previous years)
  • or a New Area  ( never been adopted before) .

Open Space Scheme

Applicants for Open Space Grants in Housing Estates should now apply for an Application Form to the Town Clerk. The scheme is to encourage residents to further improve the general standard of their estate. Materials should be purchased locally where possible. Grass cutting or labour costs are not covered by the scheme.

Grants depend on the size of housing estates

Estates with 1-49 houses = €200, 50-99 houses = €250, 100-199 houses = €320,

200-299 houses = €380, 300 or more houses = €450.
