Leixlip Town Council invites nominations for its annual Civic Awards. The nomination may be for someone who is a good neighbour, someone who works hard in a voluntary capacity, or someone who excelled at sport. There are six categories: cultural, sporting, young person, social, business and non-resident.

The award scheme is to promote and foster a community spirit in Leixlip. The purpose of the awards is to recognise and honour a contribution to the community in Leixlip and/or exceptional achievement in any of the categories. The town council will host a civic awards night on 8 May 2009 in Leixlip House Hotel.

Application forms can be got by phoning the Town Council offices at 01 6245777. or on the website; www.kildare.ie/leixlip Nominations must be returned to the Town Clerk, Siobhan Barry, Newtown House, Captain’s Hill, Leixlip on or before 2nd April 2009.
