Based on the private gentlemen’s club institutions in Dublin, this work is intended to be a light-hearted reflection of a family tradition combined with a serious investigation into an institution which excludes women. The work is a reflection of the artist’s own personal experience and using herself a s amodel, she explores her own identity through the reconceptualisation of her family history using photographic images.

Irish National Hunt Festival

Sport — horse racing

The Irish National Hunt Festival has for some time now been regarded as the lynch pin of the National Hunt season in Ireland when many of the heros from Cheltenham, Aintree and Fairyhouse Irish National meeting go to battle one more time. What was once referred to as "something unique, something special - a Festival of racing in Springtime that was born out of a gathering of the clans for the annual meeting of the Kildare Point-to-Point" has become widely known as the 'Irish Cheltenham'.

This festival is a mixture of top class jump racing and craic all rolled into one - and there is serious money at stake too - €1.7 million prize money is on offer over the four days of this magic festival.
