Irish National Hunt Festival Sport horse racing The Irish National Hunt Festival has for some time now been regarded as the lynch pin of the National Hunt season in Ireland when many of the heros from Cheltenham, Aintree and Fairyhouse Irish National meeting go to battle one more time. What was once referred to as "something unique, something special - a Festival of racing in Springtime that was born out of a gathering of the clans for the annual meeting of the Kildare Point-to-Point" has become widely known as the 'Irish Cheltenham'. This festival is a mixture of top class jump racing and craic all rolled into one - and there is serious money at stake too - €1.7 million prize money is on offer over the four days of this magic festival.
