30 September 2003: Naas Rugby Football Clubs Annual Business Luncheon took place on Friday in Killashee House Hotel with many famous faces from rugby and business attending. 29 September 2003: The sun shone brightly for the annual Eadestown Horse Show and Field Day held recently at Punchestown Racecourse which again attracted a huge number of visitors. 25 September 2003: Draft Parking Bye-Laws 2003 for Naas town will go on public display for a period of four weeks from 1 - 31 October. 25 September 2003: There is good news on the housing front for the successful applicants who applied for Naas Town Councils housing schemes of affordable and social housing on the Caragh Road, Naas. 25 September 2003: A case for a permanent football pitch for the Naas based Kingstown soccer club was made by Cllr Willie Callaghan at this weeks adjourned meeting of Naas Town Council. 22 September 2003: Mick Deely, a schoolteacher from Langton Park, Newbridge, has been selected by the Progressive Democrats to replace Senator John Dardis on Kildare County Council. 22 September 2003: The future of the local bus service in Naas depends on talks this week between the operator of the service, Mr JJ Kavanagh, and Naas Town Council. 21 September 2003: Kilcullen Community Action has suspended its litter patrol until further notice. This is in protest at Kildare County Councils failure to appoint a replacement for street cleaner Paddy Mitchell who retired last October. 18 September 2003: Progressive Democrats Senator John Dardis has come out in support of Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's recent comments in support of once-off rural housing. 16 September 2003: Mr JJ Kavanagh of Kavanaghs Buses is to give a presentation to members of Naas Town Council in the Council Chamber this evening at 7.30pm to explain why he ended the local Naas Town Bus Service. The end of the service at the start of the summer has left many, especially the elderly, housebound. 16 September 2003: Naas Town Hall is to be made wheelchair accessible within the next few months. Councillors are anxious to start the work as soon as possible and have been shown preliminary drawings of the proposed new wheelchair ramp at the front of the building. 16 September 2003: Naas Town Council should be able to fund some emergency projects that may arise from time to time out of its Community Grants system. Cllr Seamie Moore has asked councillors to enlarge their community grants system to include a school application for an extension. 15 September 2003: Cllr Paul Kelly of Leixlip has called for an overhaul of the law on treatment of sex offenders, on the basis that research has shown 'that there is no cure and that they are likely to re-offend'. 10 September 2003: The announcement of 315 redundancies at the Schneider Electrical manufacturing plant in Celbridge has been described as 'a disastrous development for the people of North Kildare' by local deputy Emmet Stagg.
